Technological Literacy

Help staff and students develop an awareness of emerging technologies, how they work and how they are changing our world.

Technological Literacy

Give your students and staff the confidence to talk about new technologies with curiosity and clarity. Our session introduces and demystifies new technologies that are emerging from advances in fields such as artificial intelligence, automation, robotics and genetics in a simple, engaging way—explaining how they work and how they're impacting our world both now and in the future.

Students will:

  • Learn the basics of how technologies work - they're not magic or even usually that complicated
  • See a balanced perspective of ways that new technologies are being used for good and ways it might cause problems.

2025 Programme

Decoding AI - Unmasking the brains behind the bots

Our programme for 2025 will focus on AI literacy and helping young people understand this new and increasingly present parts of their lives.

Young people have grown up in the world of smart speakers, Chat-GPT and interactive AI video-game characters (NPCs). However, they often have no clue, how they work or how their "personality" isn't real.

We're super excited to offer this programme to schools around New Zealand Aotearoa. Check out the tiles on the right to get a sense of what this year's Spark-Sessions will include.Check out the tiles below to get a sense of what this year's Spark-Sessions will include.
